Your Bridal Experience Guide

A few words before we begin...

A Little Note From Me

Before we dive into all the practical bits, I just wanted to say how excited I am that you've booked your bridal boudoir experience.

I know that for many brides, this is something completely outside their comfort zone. It's exciting, a little nerve-wracking, and often something you've thought about for weeks before finally pressing 'Book'.

If that's you...you're in exactly the right place.

This guide answers almost everything you'll need to know before your session, but if anything isn't covered, please just send me a message.

I'll be with you every step of the way.

Before You Begin...

Before we dive into all the practical details, I wanted to share a few little pieces of advice that I think make the biggest difference to your experience.

Please don't feel you need to buy lots of new things or have everything perfectly organised. The most beautiful sessions are never about having the most expensive lingerie or the biggest wardrobe—they're about creating photographs that feel authentically you.

As you read through this guide, keep coming back to one simple thought:

Choose the pieces that make you feel the most comfortable and the most like yourself.

Everything else is simply the finishing touch.

Then I'd have little cards or short sections underneath.

Quality over quantity

You don't need a whole new wardrobe for your session.

A few beautifully fitting pieces that you genuinely love will always photograph better than lots of outfits you don't quite feel yourself in.

It's all in the details

Don't forget the little finishing touches.

Your wedding veil. Your favourite jewellery. Wedding shoes. A bridal robe.

These small details often become some of the most meaningful photographs in your gallery.

The perfect fit

One of the best things you can do before your session is book a professional bra fitting.

The right fit makes such a difference—not only to how your lingerie looks, but to how comfortable and supported you feel throughout your session.

Comfort is beautiful

It can be tempting to choose the smallest or most revealing lingerie you can find, but less isn't always more.

Beautiful bodysuits, lace briefs, silk robes and oversized shirts often create some of my favourite photographs.

If you're between sizes, I'd almost always recommend sizing up. Nobody sees the label, but a beautifully fitting piece photographs so much more comfortably and naturally.

Rebecca's Note:Please don't put pressure on yourself to find the "perfect" outfits before your session.

If you're deciding between a few options, send me a few photographs beforehand. I'd genuinely love to help you choose, and we'll also look through everything together when you arrive.

Your Experience

Everything you can expect on the day.

Preparing for Your Session

Everything you need to know before your shoot.

Your session is designed to feel calm from the moment you arrive.

We'll begin with professional hair and makeup while we chat over a cup of tea or coffee. There's no rush, no pressure and absolutely no expectation for you to know what you're doing.

Once you're feeling settled, we'll gently ease into the photographs together. Every pose is guided, every movement demonstrated, and we'll work entirely at your pace.

Every bridal boudoir experience is completely private. The timings below are simply a guide to help you picture the day ahead—there's never any pressure to rush, perform or fit into a strict schedule.

Arrival

10:00am

We'll begin with a warm welcome, a cup of tea or coffee, and time to settle in. There's absolutely no rush. This is your opportunity to take a breath, meet your hair and makeup artist, and start relaxing into the day.

Hair and Makeup

10:00 - 11.00

While you're being pampered, we'll chat about your wedding, your outfits and anything you're feeling nervous about. By the time we're finished, most brides tell me it already feels like spending the morning with friends.

Your Shoot Begins

Around 11:00–11:30am

Once you're ready, we'll ease gently into the photographs together. Every pose is demonstrated and guided, so you'll never be left wondering what to do with your hands (or anything else!). We take our time, with plenty of outfit changes, breaks and moments to simply enjoy the experience.

A Relaxed Finish

Around 2:00pm

Most bridal sessions last around four hours from arrival to saying goodbye. There's no countdown clock and no pressure to rush. We finish when we've created a beautiful collection you're going to love.

Rebecca's Note :Please don't worry about running exactly to these times.

Some brides love chatting over another coffee before we begin. Others are excited to get straight into photographs. Every session naturally finds its own rhythm, and we simply go at whatever pace feels right for you.

Frequently asked questions

The questions almost every bride asks.

Together, we pause to consider our goals, hopes, and direction. This is about aligning with ourselves and with the journey ahead. This is a chance to reconnect with what brought you here—your questions, your hopes, your turning points—and consider how they’ve shifted or deepened.

Rebeccas note : Almost every bride tells me she was nervous driving to the venue. Almost every bride also tells me afterwards that the nerves disappeared within about fifteen minutes. If you're feeling anxious, you're in very good company.

Finding Your Style

Choosing pieces that feel like you.

One of the questions I'm asked most often is, "What should I wear?"

The answer is probably much simpler than you're expecting.

You don't need a suitcase full of expensive lingerie or a model's wardrobe. The most beautiful photographs always happen when you feel comfortable, confident and like yourself.

Think of your outfits as telling the story of you.

Four looks I recommend

Rebeccas note: If you're only buying one new set...buy one you genuinely love.

Don't remove labels until after your session—you can always return anything you decide not to wear.

Steam everything the night before. Wrinkles photograph much more than you think.

Bring more than you think you'll need. We usually choose together once you're here.

White isn't your only option. Soft ivory, champagne, blush, pale blue and even black can all look incredible for bridal sessions.

Still not sure what to bring?

Please don't worry.

Every client is welcome to send me photos of their outfits beforehand. I'll happily help you narrow things down or suggest pieces that will photograph beautifully.

You don't have to figure this out alone.

One Week Before Your Session

The excitement begins...

Your session is just around the corner, and now is the perfect time to start gathering everything together.

There's no need to aim for perfection, this is simply about arriving feeling relaxed, prepared and excited for the experience ahead.

✓ Choose your outfits

Try everything on, make sure you feel comfortable, and pop everything somewhere safe ready for the day.

Don't forget your:

  • Veil

  • Wedding shoes

  • Jewellery

  • Robes

  • Hair accessories

  • Anything sentimental you'd love included

  • If you’re not planning on returning - cut labels out of lingerie

✓ Book any beauty appointments

If you're planning waxing, threading or any other hair removal, try to book it at least 24–48 hours before your session to allow any redness to settle.

If you colour your hair, it's worth planning your appointment so your roots are freshly done.

And don't underestimate the power of beautifully shaped eyebrows—they really do frame your face in photographs.

✓ Save your hair & makeup inspiration

If you've spotted a hairstyle or makeup look you love, feel free to send it across beforehand or save it to Pinterest.

Whether you'd like something soft and natural or a little more glamorous, your artist will tailor everything to suit you.

Almost Time…..As your session gets closer, there are just a few simple things that will help you feel your absolute best.

A Few Days Before

✓ Drink plenty of water

Keeping hydrated in the days leading up to your session helps your skin look fresh, healthy and radiant.

✓ Moisturise

A little extra moisturiser on your hands, legs and elbows goes a long way.

Soft, hydrated skin always photographs beautifully.

✓ Fake tan

If you regularly have a professional spray tan and love the results, that's absolutely fine.

I simply recommend avoiding trying a new product or technique just before your session.

If you do choose to tan, please make sure it has been fully rinsed according to your artist's instructions before arriving. This helps prevent any transfer onto lingerie, bridalwear or the beautiful furnishings at the venue.

Natural, even skin tones always photograph beautifully, while very dark or uneven tans can be much more difficult to correct during editing.

Rebecca's Note :If you're ever unsure, I'd always recommend skipping the tan rather than risking one you're not completely happy with.

✓ Steam your outfits

Wrinkles photograph much more than most people expect, so giving everything a quick steam beforehand makes a huge difference.

✓ Wash your hair

Please arrive with freshly washed, dry hair and no makeup.

Your professional hair and makeup artist will create your chosen look from scratch, so there's nothing else you need to do.

If you have any allergies or skin sensitivities, please let both myself and your artist know beforehand so we can make sure everything we use is suitable for you.

On The Morning

Before you leave home...

✓ Eat breakfast

Please don't skip breakfast.

Your session lasts around four hours, and although it's wonderfully relaxed, it can be surprisingly tiring! Arriving well-fed will help you feel comfortable and enjoy every minute.

✓ Wear loose clothing

Avoid tight underwear, bras or socks if possible to prevent temporary marks on your skin before we begin photographing.

✓ Double-check your bag

Before you leave, make sure you've packed:

  • All of your outfits

  • Veil

  • Wedding shoes

  • Jewellery

  • Hair accessories

  • Any sentimental items you'd love photographed

✓ Take a deep breath

If you're feeling nervous...

Please know you're in wonderful company.

Almost every bride tells me they felt butterflies on the drive over. Almost every bride also tells me afterwards that those nerves disappeared within the first fifteen minutes.

You don't need to know how to pose. You don't need to know what to do with your hands. You don't need to be "photogenic." You simply need to arrive.

I'll gently guide you through everything else.

Just a few small things to help everything run smoothly on the day.

Privacy always comes first

Your images will never be shared without your full written permission.

Everything we create together is completely private, and you'll always remain in control of what, if anything, is ever shown publicly.

Mobile phones

You're very welcome to take behind-the-scenes photos while you're having your hair and makeup done.

Once we begin photographing, I recommend putting your phone away so you can be completely present and enjoy every moment of the experience.

Your comfort comes first

If you need a break, another cup of tea, a few quiet minutes or simply want to slow things down, just tell me. There's never any pressure to rush, and every session naturally finds its own pace.

You don't have to be perfect

This is probably the most important thing I can tell you.

You don't need to lose weight. You don't need to know how to pose. You don't need to feel confident before you arrive. You don't even need to stop feeling nervous. You simply need to show up exactly as you are.

Everything else is my job.

A Few Little Housekeeping Notes
After Your Session

What Happens Next?

Although your session may have come to an end, there's still plenty to look forward to.

Over the following days and weeks, I'll be carefully hand-editing your collection before welcoming you back to see your photographs for the very first time.

Here's what you can expect...

Rebecca's Note: One of the loveliest messages I receive is from brides telling me they've looked through their album again on their first anniversary—or that it's become something they return to whenever they need reminding to be a little kinder to themselves.

That, to me, is what this experience has always been about.

A Letter to You

If you've made it this far, your session is almost here.

Perhaps you're feeling excited, you might be feeling nervous or a little bit of both.

Before we meet, there's just one thing I'd love you to know, you don't have to arrive feeling confident, you don't have to know how to pose, you don't need the "perfect" body, the perfect lingerie, or the perfect smile.

You simply need to arrive exactly as you are. Because the woman I'm looking forward to photographing isn't someone who's perfected herself. She's someone with a story.

A woman who's loved deeply who’s worked hard, laughed until she cried, questioned herself from time to time, celebrated wonderful moments and faced difficult ones. And somehow become the woman she is today.

That's who I want to photograph.

Not because she's perfect. But because she's real.

If there's one thing I hope this experience gives you, it's a chance to step away from the pressure we so often place on ourselves. To stop worrying about how you think you should look, stop comparing yourself to everyone else, to simply enjoy a morning that's entirely about you.

Perhaps you'll leave feeling a little more confident and leave with a few hours of wonderful memories and photographs you'll treasure forever.

Whatever your experience looks like, I hope you leave knowing this:

You were always enough.

Thank you for trusting me with something so personal. It truly is the greatest privilege to be invited into such an important chapter of your life.

I can't wait to welcome you.

A Few Words From Women Who Once Sat Exactly Where You Are

I honestly couldn't have asked for a more wonderful experience. The photographs are absolutely stunning. She has captured this special chapter of my life so beautifully, and every image feels natural, elegant, and full of emotion. Looking through the gallery brought tears to my eyes because she managed to preserve not only how I looked, but how this moment in my journey felt.

I was really nervous before my shoot and nearly talked myself out of it a few times, but from the first message Rebecca made me feel safe and not pressured at all. On the day, her and the makeup artist were both so lovely. The whole atmosphere was warm, relaxed and honestly just easy. I thought I’d feel awkward, but somehow I didn’t. I actually ended up enjoying it so much more than I expected. It was more than just having photos taken. I left feeling proud of myself, emotional, and really grateful that I did it. Thank you Rebecca for making such a big step feel so safe. I’ll never forget it

I never thought standing practically naked in front of someone I'd only just met would be do empowering but Rebecca made me feel more comfortable and confident than I could have imagined. The sneak peak at the photos I got today were stunning and I can't wait to see the finished products.

I'll See You Soon

Thank you for trusting me with something so personal.

I know how much courage it takes to step in front of the camera, especially when you've never done anything like this before.

I promise you'll never be expected to know what you're doing.

I'll guide you through every single step.

I genuinely can't wait to meet you.
