There is something particularly lovely about photographing a bride in those final few months before her wedding.
Today’s bride is getting married in December, and her bridal boudoir session felt like the perfect little pause before everything starts to become very real.
A few hours away from wedding planning. Beautiful lingerie. Hair and makeup. And the slightly surreal feeling of knowing that in just a few months, she’ll be a bride.
A Bridal Boudoir Session Before a Winter Wedding
Bridal boudoir doesn’t have to be entirely about creating a gift — although keeping the photographs secret before your wedding is undoubtedly part of the fun.
It’s also a chance to enjoy this particular version of yourself.
The one choosing wedding dresses and lingerie, counting down the months, imagining the morning itself and wondering how quickly it will all suddenly arrive.
I usually recommend having your bridal boudoir session around three months before your wedding, particularly if you’re considering a handmade album. It gives us plenty of time for your session, private viewing and everything afterwards without adding another deadline to those final few weeks.
For a December wedding, September is rather perfect.

For today's session, my bride wore pieces from LOUNGE — simple, feminine lingerie that photographed beautifully and worked perfectly with the understated style I love for bridal boudoir.
Hair and makeup was created by Lauren from ID Hair & Makeup, who kept everything beautifully polished while still allowing her to look completely like herself.
And from there, we kept the photographs simple.
Beautiful light, gorgeous lingerie and those small details that make bridal photographs feel different — creating something intimate and personal without needing to overcomplicate it.
