How I See You Through My Lens
When a woman steps into my studio, she often arrives carrying more than just a bag of outfits.
She brings nerves.
A little self-doubt.
Sometimes even years of not truly seeing herself.
There’s this moment at the beginning, often in the first few minutes, where she’ll apologise.
“Sorry, I’m a bit awkward.”
“Sorry, I didn’t really know what to wear.”
“Sorry, I’m not photogenic.”
But the thing is… she doesn’t need to apologise. Because even before I’ve taken a single photo, I already see her.
I see the quiet strength in her posture, even if she doesn’t stand tall yet.
I see the softness in her face, the part of her that still cares deeply, even when the world tells her to toughen up.
I see the spark in her eyes, maybe dimmed by life, by expectations, by exhaustion, but still very much there.
And then something happens.
As we ease into the session, there’s this shift. It’s not forced. It’s not posed. It’s not even about the camera.
It’s something internal.
Maybe it starts with a real laugh. Or a moment where she lets herself breathe.
Or a pose where she catches her reflection and says, “Wait… is that me?”
And that’s when the magic happens.
She begins to see herself differently, not as someone trying to be confident, but as someone who is.
Her body hasn’t changed. Her face hasn’t changed.
But her energy? Completely transformed.
It’s one of the most powerful things I get to witness.
To watch a woman come home to herself.
To watch her shed the old stories, about not being beautiful enough, thin enough, bold enough, and simply become.
This is how I see women through my lens:
Not as they think they are, but as they truly are.
And my job isn’t just to take beautiful photographs.
It’s to hold up a mirror so you can finally see what’s been there all along.
You.
Powerful. Beautiful. Worthy.
Exactly as you are.
Ready to see yourself differently?
